This role sits within HIMSS’ Global Marketing & Communications function as part of the Global Brand, Design and Creative team. It is responsible for developing high-quality visual assets that bring the HIMSS brand to life across global campaigns, marketing initiatives, and client programs.
The role blends brand stewardship with client delivery, ensuring that all creative output supports HIMSS’s global brand standards, visual identity, and storytelling approach, while also delivering impactful, performance-driven assets for sponsored and partner programs.


The ideal candidate will be a skilled production designer who can work on tight deadlines to create visually engaging program elements that capture the style of our anchor sites/brands – HIMSS, Healthcare IT News, MobiHealthNews and Healthcare Finance News – while contributing to a cohesive global design system and unified brand experience and meeting the client’s key performance indicators.
Visual elements include designing content assets (e-books, whitepapers, infographics, case studies), research reports (PowerPoint reports, charts), digital ads, landing pages and microsites, and motion graphics for video, contributing to cohesive, high-impact campaigns across global audiences.

Responsibilities Include
  • Design and produce multiple marketing and communication pieces on behalf of leading global clients, including content assets, research reports, landing pages, microsites, email, digital ads units, social images
  • Develops graphics and layouts for sales collateral and mockups
  • Understands UX and translating storytelling to engaging designs
  • Obtains client approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval
  • Prepares finished designs for deployment through various channels
  • Studies and works from client program requirements to develop top-notch creative within HIMSS brand guidelines
  • Supports building HIMSS as a strong, innovative, modern brand through the consistent development of visual materials that align within its brand guidelines and templates
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment to HIMSS’s global brand standards, visual identity, and creative direction across all deliverables
  • Work within HIMSS brand guidelines and templates
  • Contribute to the evolution and consistency of HIMSS’s global design system, trainings, templates, and creative frameworks
  • Strong ability to connect design to audience behavior and brand insight
  • Skilled, adept and detail-oriented project management
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphics Design or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design, ideally within a marketing and communications function
  • Strong portfolio of motion graphics and video editing ability
  • Possesses knowledge of digital design best practices
  • Results oriented based on data
  • Must have a team focus
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and pivot/adapt appropriately
  • Adept at working from briefs to turn insights into execution
  • Must be detail oriented and work well under pressure
  • Experience with graphic design tools including InDesign, InVision, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Experience in: HTML, CSS, After Effects, Premiere
  • Some experience with CMS platforms and DAMs
  • Experience working within or contributing to brand guidelines and design systems at scale
