Position Purpose:
This position will play a critical role in directing and managing the sourcing, review, and maintenance of a catalog of high-quality proposals and speaker profiles, representative of the HIMSS global community, across the enterprise. Under the direction and with the support of the Manager, Professional Development, this position is responsible for the ongoing growth, usage, and management of the global catalog(s), ensuring alignment with HIMSS standards and driving value to members. The Program Manager will collaborate with various global stakeholders to ensure a seamless selection process that supports content development needs for both internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions

Position Purpose:
This position will play a critical role in directing and managing the sourcing, review, and maintenance of a catalog of high-quality proposals and speaker profiles, representative of the HIMSS global community, across the enterprise. Under the direction and with the support of the Manager, Professional Development, this position is responsible for the ongoing growth, usage, and management of the global catalog(s), ensuring alignment with HIMSS standards and driving value to members. The Program Manager will collaborate with various global stakeholders to ensure a seamless selection process that supports content development needs for both internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions
- Direct and manage the process of sourcing, reviewing, and maintaining community-driven content for HIMSS’ continuing education programs and other events, which may be HIMSS-hosted or customer-hosted, globally. Ensure that all content meets HIMSS’ educational standards and aligns with the target audience's needs.
- Direct and manage the review and scoring of content submitted by the global community members. Administer a peer-review process to ensure timely and effective content review and recommendation.
- Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders (e.g., Content and Distribution Strategy, Organizational Affiliates, Corporate Relations, EMEA, APAC, Events, Chapters, etc.) to ensure content is aligned with HIMSS’ educational strategy, meets program goals, and supports distribution needs as appropriate.
- Act as a primary liaison between HIMSS and the global external content community, fostering collaboration and ensuring continuous engagement with content providers and customers.
- Ensure regular content reports are prepared and distributed to key internal stakeholders, providing updates on content status, review cycles, and program effectiveness. Establish and maintain an enterprise-wide system to track content distribution and usage to ensure that usage adheres to applicable guidelines and established terms.
- Provide support for any processes, tools, and/or platforms that are utilized to facilitate a HIMSS Speakers Bureau. This may include, but is not limited to, administering a speaker profile database/repository, ensuring connectivity between existing platforms and any new tools/platforms that are utilized, maintaining accurate data related to speaker and content relationships and usage, assisting in the identification and matching of speaker and content needs, and providing any needed internal and external customer support.
- Continuously evaluate and refine content sourcing processes to improve efficiency, user experience, and overall content quality.
- Provide support and training to internal teams and external contributors on content submission processes, content guidelines, and the HIMSS content ecosystem.
- Ensure appropriate team members have access to up-to-date resources and documents for content-related file share site(s).
- As appropriate, engage in the integration of community content into HIMSS events, including the HIMSS Global Health Conference, other professional development programs, and other events, globally, as requested.
- Conduct regular reviews and participate in any needed build and maintenance activities of HIMSS platforms, including the website and LMS, to ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and effectively communicated.
- Oversee the transition of approved content to HIMSS’ Learning Management System (LMS) and other relevant platforms. Ensure the content is properly formatted, uploaded, and accessible to end users.
- Works closely with the Manager, Professional Development and other Professional Development team members.
- Has contact with other HIMSS teams to achieve category objectives and KPIs.
- Has contact with internal HIMSS teams such as Product Management, Engagement Strategies, Content and Distribution, Marketing & Communications, EMEA, APAC, Finance, IT, and Sales to source and distribute content.
- Has contact and must sustain positive, professional, effective communication with all members, customers, speakers and potential speakers, presenters, committee/task force/workgroup members, board members, co-sponsors, and other collaborative partners globally.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare, Education, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of related work experience in program management, content curation, or professional development, preferably in a healthcare association, or non-profit setting.
- Relevant health IT, association management, or project management certification preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with learning management systems, customer relationship management systems, and file share platforms is a plus.
- Experience directing/managing content management, review, and delivery processes.
- Familiarity with the requirements of providing continuing medical education.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex information in a clear, accessible manner.
- Self-confident and outgoing personality with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with cross-functional teams, including content contributors, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Minimal travel may be required for conferences or content-related events.
